Role Summary

As a Principal Applications Engineer on the Applications Engineering team in Bengaluru, you will support customers using Synopsys tools, diagnose technical issues, and collaborate with product and engineering teams to drive product adoption and quality.

Primary mission: deliver technical solutions and guidance to customers, enable successful deployments, and provide actionable feedback to product development.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include:

• Provide advanced technical support and issue resolution for customers using EDA tools.
• Develop and deliver product demonstrations, proofs of concept, and training sessions.
• Diagnose, reproduce, and debug customer-reported problems; create workarounds and document fixes.
• Collaborate with product management and engineering to prioritize defects and feature requests.
• Create test cases, application notes, and sample flows to validate product behavior.
• Engage with customers onsite and remotely to ensure successful tool deployment and adoption.

• Must-have: Proven experience in applications engineering, customer support, or EDA tool usage; strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Must-have: Experience working with customers to reproduce and resolve complex technical issues.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with ASIC/SoC design flows, scripting (Python, Tcl, Shell), and familiarity with EDA tool chains.
• Nice-to-have: Prior experience providing training, demos, or technical consulting to engineering teams.
