Job Title
Principal Engineer - Analog/Mixed-Signal (IP Technical Lead)
Role Summary
Member of the Mixed-Signal Development Group responsible for delivering analog and mixed-signal IP to product divisions. The role focuses on IP intake, customization, integration, lab bring-up and post-tape-out support for PLLs, high-speed SERDES, ADCs, DACs and other analog blocks.
Experience Level
Senior level. Typical experience expectation: 10+ years mixed-signal CMOS circuit design with a Bachelor’s, or ~7.5+ years with a Master’s (see Education Requirements).
Responsibilities
Lead technical activities for mixed-signal IP across intake, customization, integration and post-silicon support.
- Define requirements for mixed-signal IP in coordination with SoC architects.
- Collaborate with IP vendors to customize solutions and finalize Statements of Work (SOW).
- Manage IP intake: pre-licensing, post-acquisition QA, integration and sign-off reviews.
- Support IP through post-tape-out: lab testing, customer bring-up and debug.
- Participate actively in lab testing and debug of mixed-signal and SERDES blocks.
- Own circuit and system specifications for assigned IP.
- Design CMOS analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits as required.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and professional abilities.
- Deep understanding of the mixed-signal analog design flow: architecture, design and integration.
- Experience with high-speed SERDES and/or PLL circuit design and debug.
- Proficiency with circuit simulators such as HSPICE and Spectre.
- Working knowledge of device physics and basic ESD / latch-up concepts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to ramp quickly on new projects; practical problem-solving and debugging in lab environments.
- Innovative, creative mindset focused on practical outcomes.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with PCIe, SAS, SATA or Ethernet protocols.
- Experience with chiplet technologies.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with at least 10 years of mixed-signal CMOS circuit design experience, or a Master's degree with at least 7.5 years of such experience. (No other degree/certification requirements specified.)
