Role Summary

The Principal Engineer in Analog Design Engineering will lead architecture definition, drive key technical decisions, and provide mentorship while collaborating with photonics, packaging, and system teams to develop optical IC solutions.

Experience Level

Senior level with 8+ years of experience in analog IC design, including 5+ years specifically in SiGe high-speed circuits.

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will handle the following responsibilities:

  • Engage with customers to define system requirements and translate them into IC-level specifications.
  • Lead technical decision-making for SiGe-based high-speed analog front-end ICs.
  • Design and optimize broadband, low-noise circuits in SiGe BiCMOS technology.
  • Oversee the full design cycle from specification to tape-out.
  • Drive lab characterization and design improvements.
  • Collaborate with photonics teams to integrate ICs with optical devices.
  • Define system-level models and performance budgets.
  • Support co-packaged optics and advanced packaging initiatives.
  • Develop advanced test methodologies and qualification plans.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers.

Requirements

Qualifications for this role include:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Physics, or related fields.
  • 8+ years of analog IC design experience.
  • Proven leadership in TIA/Driver or similar broadband analog ICs.
  • Strong experience in Si Photonics and photonic circuit modeling.
  • Proficient with Cadence/Synopsys EDA tools.
  • High-speed lab validation experience, including BER testing.

Education Requirements

Master’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Physics, Materials Engineering, or a related field is required.
