Job Title
Principal DFT Engineer
Role Summary
The Principal DFT Engineer implements and verifies design-for-test (DFT) features across subsystem and top-level RTL for MCU/MPU products in the MMEDE business unit. The role focuses on enabling manufacturing testability, improving test coverage, and supporting pattern bring-up for wafer probe and final test.
Experience Level
Senior — 7+ years of experience in DFT implementation and verification.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include RTL changes for DFT, test insertion, coverage improvement, and simulation/bring-up activities.
- Implement RTL changes for DFT at subsystem and top levels.
- Insert and verify MBIST for memories.
- Analyze and fix scan DRCs in RTL.
- Analyze ATPG reports, improve coverage, and generate test patterns for ATE.
- Insert TAP, IOs, and test pinmux per NXP DFT flows.
- Perform power-aware RTL/GLS simulation bring-up and maintain regression suites for ATPG and non-ATPG simulations.
- Support pattern bring-up on wafer probe and final test in coordination with Product and Test teams.
Requirements
Key skills and experience required and preferred.
Must-have:
- 7+ years in DFT implementation and verification (scan insertion, JTAG, memory BIST, ATPG).
- Experience with ATPG coverage analysis, ATPG DRC analysis, and generating patterns for ATE.
- Proficient in RTL coding and debugging (Verilog/VHDL) and simulation debug with timing/SDF.
- Ability to debug and root cause simulation failures and scan/ATPG issues.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with power-aware simulation flows and regression automation.
- Experience with wafer probe and final test bring-up and close collaboration with Product/Test teams.
- Familiarity with NXP-specific DFT flows and test pinmux insertion.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
