Principal Design Engineer

Role Summary

Serve as the primary technical contact for complex IP integration, verification, and customer escalations. Support pre-silicon integration, post-silicon bring-up, RTL and gate-level validation, and timing closure for PHY and controller SoC integrations.

Work with customers and internal Product Engineering/R&D teams to diagnose issues, document limitations, deliver technical training, and drive product improvements.

Experience Level

Senior — 8+ years of experience in verification and design, with emphasis on IP development and system integration.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Act as primary interface for technical issues; manage and drive resolution of complex subsystem or IP implementation problems.
• Monitor and manage cases in tracking systems (e.g., Salesforce, Jira) and handle customer escalations.
• Support pre-silicon integration, post-silicon bring-up, and verification of PHY and controller SoC integration.
• Perform RTL and gate-level simulations and assist with timing closure and functional validation.
• Develop and maintain knowledge bases, document product limitations, and provide actionable feedback to Product Engineering and R&D teams.
• Create and deliver technical training, seminars, and documentation to customers and internal teams.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred technical skills:

• Must-have: 8+ years of experience in verification and design focused on IP development; strong background in digital electronics.
• Must-have: Proficiency in Verilog/SystemVerilog and UVM methodology.
• Must-have: Practical knowledge of memory and communication interface protocols (examples: MIPI CSI2/DSI/I3C/PHY, PCI Express, DDR/LPDDR, HBM, USB).
• Must-have: Strong debugging skills and experience with scripting languages such as TCL, Perl, or Python.
• Must-have: Experience with case management and customer-facing support processes.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with AI tools for rapid prototyping and effective prompting.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Cadence tools, EDA workflows, or similar IP design platforms.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
