Principal Customer Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Technical lead responsible for customer validation strategy and execution for strategic customers, hyperscalers, or OEMs. Owns end-to-end validation approach, acceptance criteria, and risk mitigation to support product qualification and customer confidence.

Works across firmware, hardware, and systems teams to align validation scope, resolve multi-domain issues, and make final technical decisions affecting qualification outcomes and business results.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Minimum guidance: 8+ years of experience in customer, system, or product validation engineering.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include leadership of customer-facing validation programs and cross-functional coordination.

• Serve as the Customer Validation Lead (CVL) for strategic customers, hyperscalers, or OEMs.
• Define and own customer validation strategy, test depth, acceptance criteria, and risk mitigation plans.
• Lead qualification planning, execution readiness reviews, and customer closure decisions.
• Align customer requirements with internal validation, firmware, and system teams.
• Provide technical leadership for complex, multi-domain validation and debug challenges.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required to succeed in this role.

• 8+ years of experience in customer, system, or product validation engineering.
• Proven ownership of customer-facing validation programs with measurable technical impact.
• Experience leading complex technical initiatives across multiple engineering domains.
• Deep expertise in enterprise SSD systems, storage behavior, and system-level interactions.
• Strong analytical judgment and the ability to assess and manage technical risk under ambiguity.

Preferred:

• Experience influencing validation strategy and driving quality improvements at scale.
• Comfort serving as final technical authority for validation scope and outcomes.
• Proven ability to coordinate multi-functional teams including firmware, hardware, and systems engineering.
• Strong customer-facing interpersonal skills for technical briefings and resolving critical issues.

Education Requirements

Preferred: Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience is acceptable.
