Principal Application Engineer

Role Summary

This role is a senior position in the Digital and Signoff Group within the India Field Organization at Cadence. The candidate will partner with top semiconductor customers to address design challenges, develop innovative methodologies, and influence product strategies.

Experience Level

Senior, with 8+ years of experience required in digital implementation flows.

Responsibilities

The Principal Application Engineer will:

• Drive RTL-to-GDSII metrics on complex designs independently.
• Engage in solution-oriented discussions with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the sales team to formulate account strategies and campaigns.
• Promote the adoption of new technologies with customers.
• Develop innovative solutions to address customer problems using tool capabilities or scripting.
• Implement machine learning-based solutions to enhance productivity and PPA.
• Support R&D in resolving complex tool issues.
• Mentor junior team members and work collaboratively with global AE teams.

Requirements

Candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• BE/BTech/ME/MS/MTech degree in Electrical or Electronics.
• 8+ years of experience in digital implementation on advanced nodes.
• Expertise in Synthesis, PnR, or STA.
• Familiarity with scripting languages and flow development is a plus.
• Strong debugging skills and ability to discern critical issues from trivial ones.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Able to build strong relationships with customers.
• Creative problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively across functions and geographies.
• Commitment to operating with integrity while raising performance standards.

Education Requirements

BE/BTech/ME/MS/MTech in Electrical or Electronics is required.
