Job Title
Principal Analog Design Engineer (Tx)
Role Summary
Architect, design and verify CMOS analog blocks for custom ASICs with primary focus on Tx and high-speed DDR I/O interfaces. Work as a senior analog design engineer within the engineering team to deliver mixed-signal products that meet performance, area, power and schedule targets.
Experience Level
Senior (Principal). 10–15 years of analog circuit design experience with emphasis on Tx designs.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include architecting and delivering high-performance analog blocks and ensuring successful integration with digital systems.
- Lead design, simulation, and validation of advanced analog circuits (Tx, Rx, PLLs, bandgap, high-speed mixed-signal) in fine-geometry CMOS processes.
- Develop and optimize high-speed DDR I/O interfaces for signal integrity and noise immunity.
- Design and improve receiver circuits (CTLE, VGA, DFE) with attention to sensitivity, linearity, noise and power.
- Collaborate with digital and systems engineers for analog-digital integration.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers; contribute to best practices and methodologies.
- Perform comprehensive simulations and verification; resolve issues and implement corrective actions.
- Produce detailed design documentation, specifications and reports.
- Focus on innovation and low-power circuit solutions; ensure designs meet EM/IR and aging reliability requirements.
- Ensure layouts meet high analog matching and performance standards.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 10–15 years of analog circuit design experience with emphasis on Tx designs.
- Expertise in high-speed DDR I/O interface design and optimization.
- In-depth knowledge of analog Tx design, signal integrity and noise mitigation.
- Proficiency with analog design and simulation tools (Cadence Virtuoso, Maestro, Spectre, HSPICE).
- Strong understanding of signal integrity and general analog design principles.
- Experience with layout review for high-precision analog performance.
- Technical leadership experience and ability to mentor engineers.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with low-power circuit design and fine-geometry mixed-signal processes.
Education Requirements
Advanced degree in Electronics/Microelectronics Engineering or a related discipline (e.g., MS or PhD) is specified.
