Principal Analog Design Engineer

Role Summary

The Principal Analog Design Engineer will serve as the global technical authority for PMIC and mixed-signal product lines, leading architecture, design, verification and production readiness activities across the product lifecycle.

This senior engineering role collaborates with customers and cross-functional teams, mentors engineers, and drives company-wide engineering methodology and roadmap improvements.

Experience Level

Senior — requires extensive experience (minimum ~12–15 years) in power management IC design with recent experience acting as a technical project lead.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities span technical leadership, product architecture, verification planning, and cross-team collaboration.

  • Lead full development lifecycle of major analog and mixed-signal blocks and top-level PMIC products from specification through design, simulation, silicon verification and production readiness.
  • Act as a global technical authority and primary contact for architectural decisions; mentor and guide engineering teams.
  • Work directly with customers to define system requirements and develop solutions that meet performance, area and power constraints.
  • Oversee high-level verification planning, DFT strategy and lab evaluation in partnership with applications and test engineering teams.
  • Drive identification and implementation of company-wide improvements in engineering methodologies, policies and strategic initiatives.
  • Support roadmap planning and ensure technical direction aligns with market trends and CMOS process evolution.
  • Occasional international travel on short notice to support customer and cross-site activities.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, leadership experience, and soft skills needed to perform the role effectively.

  • 12–15+ years of experience in power management ICs with demonstrated technical leadership on complex IC projects (technical project lead within the last 4 years).
  • Deep expertise in CMOS power management circuits and PMIC design concepts.
  • Proven ability to lead engineering initiatives, implement process improvements, and deliver high-quality results on tight schedules.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for conveying complex technical concepts to multicultural teams and customers.
  • Ability to work independently as a technical lead while fostering collaboration and mentoring across teams.
  • High cross-cultural sensitivity and flexibility to travel internationally when required.

Education Requirements

Degree-level qualification in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related technical field) is stated as required.
