Principal AI Systems Engineer – Analog Design
Role Summary
The Principal AI Systems Engineer – Analog Design will be a part of the Optical PHY (CE-OPHY) team, responsible for designing high-speed and optical transceivers for communication infrastructure. This role involves addressing bandwidth, capacity, and power issues related to cloud computing and data centers.
Experience Level
Senior; 5+ years of experience in analog/mixed-signal IC design.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities for this role include:
- Design and optimize analog blocks such as PLLs, regulators, buffers, and SERDES circuits.
- Utilize industry-standard tools (e.g., Spectre, Virtuoso, MATLAB, Python) to analyze performance trade-offs.
- Automate correlation of simulation results with lab data.
- Explore AI workflows and develop relevant scripts/models for IC calibration and optimization.
- Participate in cross-functional collaboration involving hardware, software, and algorithms.
Requirements
Key requirements for this position include:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- 5+ years of experience in analog/mixed-signal IC design.
- Hands-on experience with mixed-signal circuits and knowledge of deep sub-micron CMOS technologies.
- Proven ability to integrate AI/ML methods into analog/mixed-signal design processes.
- Solid understanding of signal processing and control theory.
- Experience with IC design CAD tools and AI frameworks.
- Proficiency in Python and MATLAB for data analysis and visualization.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Education Requirements
Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
