Job Title

Pre-Si Systems Intern

Role Summary

The Pre-Si Systems Intern will support functional logic verification of silicon designs within the Data Center Group (DCG). The role assists in creating and executing verification plans, developing test benches and verification environments, and performing simulation and emulation to validate functionality, performance, and power behavior.

The intern will work closely with architecture and design teams, participate in debug and root-cause analysis, and learn industry-standard pre-silicon verification flows and tools through hands-on projects.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Internship. Candidates are expected to have approximately 3+ months of relevant hands-on experience in digital design and hardware description languages; pursuing undergraduate or master's studies.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include supporting verification activities, running simulations/emulations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • Contribute to functional logic verification to ensure designs meet specifications and architectural requirements.
  • Support development of verification plans, test benches, and verification environments aimed at full architectural coverage.
  • Assist with simulation and emulation to validate functionality and analyze power and performance behavior.
  • Participate in debug and root-cause analysis and help implement corrective measures for design issues.
  • Collaborate with architecture and design teams to ensure functional correctness and implementation efficiency.
  • Learn and apply verification methodologies, tools, and best practices through project work.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and eligibility requirements; preferred items listed separately.

  • Must-have: ~3+ months experience with digital design concepts (combinational logic, synchronous state machines, asynchronous logic).
  • Must-have: Experience with Hardware Description Languages such as Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog.
  • Must-have: Experience programming in one or more languages: C, C++, Python, Perl, or Java.
  • Must-have: At least 1 month experience executing commands at a command prompt.
  • Must-have: Advanced English proficiency.
  • Must-have: Unrestricted, permanent right to work in Mexico (role not eligible for visa or immigration sponsorship).
  • Preferred: Familiarity with computer architectures and interfaces (USB, UART, SPI, I2C, PCIe, etc.).
  • Preferred: Knowledge and experience with Linux operating systems.

Education Requirements

Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field (at least ~50% of coursework completed), or equivalent practical experience gained through internships, coursework, or research.
