Job Title
Power Architect – System Design
Role Summary
The Power Architect will define power architectures, perform modeling and analysis, and provide technical leadership for PMIC, Charger, and Multi-Level Converter (MLC) based products from concept through silicon validation. The role is part of the CMX System Design team and works closely with analog design, digital, verification, validation, test, and product engineering teams.
Experience Level
Senior level — requires significant domain experience; posting specifies a minimum of 7 years related experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include system architecture ownership, model-based analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and documentation.
- Define and own power architectures for PMIC, Charger, and MLC-based converter products across multiple projects.
- Drive architecture trade-offs; define operating modes, startup/shutdown sequencing, and system boundary conditions.
- Develop and maintain low-level models (e.g., Simplis) to inform architecture decisions and reduce silicon risk.
- Analyze stability, transient response, fault behavior, and corner cases to validate architecture.
- Provide architectural leadership and technical guidance to analog, digital, verification, validation, test, and product teams.
- Participate in design and architecture reviews and technical discussions across programs.
- Support silicon bring-up, validation, and system-level debug and root-cause analysis activities.
- Create and maintain architecture documentation, sub-block specifications, design guidelines, and lessons-learned records.
- Contribute to internal training, workshops, and knowledge-sharing activities.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred qualifications based on the posting.
-
Must-have: Minimum 7 years of experience in power management ICs, chargers, or advanced power converter designs (including DC/DC converters or mixed-signal systems).
-
Must-have: Experience with power architecture and architectural analysis for power management products.
-
Must-have: Familiarity with modeling tools such as Simplis and Simulink.
-
Must-have: Ability to work across disciplines and influence technical decisions; strong written and verbal communication skills.
-
Preferred: Experience on PMIC, Charger, or MLC-based converter programs.
-
Preferred: Familiarity with Multi-Level Converter (MLC) architectures or other advanced converter topologies and multi-rail power systems and sequencing.
-
Preferred: Experience supporting silicon bring-up, validation, and root-cause analysis.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
