Job Title

Post-silicon Validation and Debug Engineer

Role Summary

The engineer will perform low-level SoC and platform debug, develop and execute validation plans, and drive root-cause analysis to characterize device features and resolve failures. The role interfaces with design, system validation, firmware/software teams, and manufacturing to enable product readiness.

Experience Level

Entry-level (College graduate). Typical background: ~0–3 years professional experience; posting indicates 1+ years experience for bachelor’s holders or master’s with relevant experience, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties focus on post-silicon validation, debug, and cross-team problem resolution.

  • Perform low-level and complex debug across systems, subsystems, and SoC levels.
  • Develop and execute validation plans and tests for domain- and system-level features and flows.
  • Implement techniques and workflows for faster SoC/platform-level debug and failure isolation.
  • Use design-for-debug (DFD) tools, scripts, and automation to improve debug efficiency.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis, resolve triage failures and marginality issues, and track debug progress.
  • Collaborate with design, system validation, firmware/software teams, and manufacturing to characterize new device features.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

  • Practical experience with SoC design, architecture, and debug techniques, including use of DFD tools and methodologies (minimum ~6 months of hands-on experience recommended).
  • Strong understanding of firmware and software integration with hardware systems.
  • Experience applying debug workflows, advanced test methodologies, and failure isolation techniques.
  • Ability to develop and execute validation plans and test cases at system and platform level.
  • Skilled in root-cause analysis and tracking/debug progress across teams.
  • Effective collaborator with cross-disciplinary teams including design, validation, and manufacturing.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with Graphics and Power Management flows within SoC designs.
  • Exposure to influencing technical strategy and aligning team goals with technical vision.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical engineering discipline (with ~1+ years experience), or a Master’s in those fields preferred; equivalent practical experience accepted.
