Placement Electronics/Software Development Engineer (Intern)

Role Summary

This is a student placement to support the design and development of production test equipment for Sensata manufacturing sites, focused on TPMS, MEMS, HTS, HVOR and Electrification product families. The role involves developing and debugging test applications that control instruments and record measurements.

Experience Level

Internship / Entry-level — suitable for students currently enrolled in a science or engineering degree program.

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities for the placement:

  • Support design and development of production test equipment for global manufacturing sites.
  • Document hardware and software for test equipment.
  • Develop and debug test applications using LabVIEW and TestStand to control instruments (oscilloscopes, multimeters, analyzers, etc.). Training will be provided.
  • Work on a development project to learn building applications that control hardware and take measurements using modern toolsets.

Requirements

Must-have and desirable skills for a successful placement candidate.

  • Must-have: Interest in electronics and software development; willingness to learn LabVIEW/TestStand and instrument control.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with a common programming language (C, C++ or C#); familiarity with an electronic design package (e.g., Altium); knowledge of firmware design in C.

Education Requirements

Working towards a Science/Engineering degree in an electronics- or software-related discipline (student placement / in-progress degree).
