Physical Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join Qorvo's EDA team to develop and maintain physical verification flows for RF ICs, acoustic wave devices (SAW/BAW), and multi-technology modules. The role focuses on rule deck development, verification flow support, automation, and cross-functional collaboration with design, R&D and process teams.

This is an onsite role based in Barcelona expected to work on-site five days a week.

Experience Level

Mid-level / Professional. The posting requests 5+ years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Responsibilities

Key day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining verification rule decks, supporting verification flows across multiple technologies, and improving EDA infrastructure and automation.

• Develop and maintain physical verification rule decks (DRC, LVS, ERC).
• Support verification flows for RF ICs, SAW/BAW devices, and multi-technology modules.
• Collaborate with design, R&D, and process teams to debug and improve verification methodologies.
• Enhance EDA flows and infrastructure and integrate industry-standard tools.
• Develop automation and scripting (Python) to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Provide day-to-day support for EDA tools and internal users.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.

• 5+ years of related experience (or equivalent practical experience).
• Practical understanding of physical verification concepts: DRC, LVS, ERC.
• Familiarity with industry EDA verification tools such as Calibre, ICV, or Cadence PVS/Pegasus.
• Programming/scripting experience, preferably Python.
• Experience working in Linux/UNIX environments.
• Ability to collaborate across design, process, and tooling teams to diagnose and resolve verification issues.

Nice-to-have:

• Exposure to RF or EM design tools (Virtuoso, ADS, HFSS).
• Experience with automation or design workflows and infrastructure.
• Previous internship or academic experience in EDA, physical design, or verification.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is specified. The posting also allows for equivalent practical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
