Physical IC Design Engineer

The Physical IC Design Engineer position at Broadcom is part of the Asic Products Division. The role focuses on utilizing advanced technology to enhance Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning through PCIe Switch Products, and to improve enterprise storage solutions, requiring expertise in all Physical Design aspects from RTL to silicon tape-out.
Experience Level
Senior, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Execution of Physical Design, Synthesis, Physical Verification, and Timing Closure
- Setup and Synthesizing RTL
- Timing closure through various methods and strategies
- EM/IR Analysis
- Place and Route
- Clock Tree Synthesis
- Floor-planning and Layout
- Flow and Methodology Development
- Collaboration with IC Design RTL Engineers
- In-person work at the San Jose site; remote work is not permitted.
Requirements
Applicants must possess the following:
- TCL/PERL Scripting
- Proficiency in related EDA Tools
- Full physical design cycle experience: RTL to Tape-out
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Education Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering is required.
