Job Title
Physical Design Program Manager
Role Summary
Lead end-to-end planning, execution governance, and on-time delivery of system-on-chip (SoC) products across semiconductor platforms. The role coordinates cross‑functional teams (physical design/PNR, signoff domains, product management, program managers) to drive Plan of Record (POR) commitments and deliver decision‑ready reporting to leadership.
This position operates at the intersection of technology, execution, and leadership to ensure scalable delivery across multiple SoCs, customers, and market segments.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 12 to 15 years total experience in the semiconductor industry with 4+ years of technology or engineering program management experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include program ownership, execution governance, stakeholder coordination, and continuous improvement of processes and metrics.
- Own end‑to‑end SoC product lifecycle from floorplan through GDS shipment to foundry.
- Define, maintain, and drive SOC/HardMacro/Core Plan of Record (POR) across P* stages; ensure milestone ownership and traceability for features and deliverables.
- Drive alignment across PNR execution stages and all signoff domains.
- Lead exit milestone readiness and closure reviews; track execution across SOC PNR/signoff workstreams.
- Proactively identify execution risks, conflicts, and gaps; drive mitigation to closure.
- Act as single point of coordination across Engineering, Product/Tech PdMs, and BU/Target Program Managers; provide clear dashboards, weekly execution updates, and executive summaries.
- Present tradeoffs, escalations, and recommendations to leadership with ownership and clarity.
- Maintain and improve program dashboards, KPIs, and execution metrics; drive automation and reporting efficiency and ensure adherence to development and release processes.
