Job Title
PE Logic Design Engineer
Role Summary
The PE Logic Design Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and delivering digital logic for ASIC/SoC projects. The role works within a cross-functional chip team including verification, physical design, firmware, and system architects.
Primary mission: produce synthesizable RTL, support synthesis and timing closure, and drive design issues to tape-out readiness.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Typical expectation: several years of hands-on ASIC/SoC logic design experience (e.g., ~3+ years).
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop synthesizable RTL (SystemVerilog/Verilog) for digital blocks and subsystems.
- Create and maintain design constraints, synthesis scripts, and timing models.
- Collaborate with verification engineers to ensure design correctness and coverage.
- Work with physical design and timing teams to achieve timing closure and area/power targets.
- Perform design reviews, code quality checks, and participate in architecture trade-offs.
- Debug integration issues in silicon bring-up and support post-silicon validation.
- Produce clear design documentation and handoff materials.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred qualifications.
-
Must-have: Hands-on experience writing synthesizable RTL in Verilog/SystemVerilog.
-
Must-have: Practical experience with ASIC/SoC design flows, synthesis tools, and static timing analysis.
-
Must-have: Experience debugging functional and timing issues; ability to read schematics and timing reports.
-
Must-have: Scripting skills for automation (Python, Perl, or Tcl).
-
Nice-to-have: Familiarity with UVM, formal verification, or FPGA prototyping.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with low-power design techniques, physical design constraints, or multi-clock domain design.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
