Job Title

PDK Development Engineer

Role Summary

Primary technical contributor responsible for developing and maintaining Process Development Kit (PDK) environments for advanced semiconductor processes within the Analog Technology Development team in Bengaluru.

Work focuses on PDK creation, integration with EDA flows, quality assurance and cross-team collaboration with process integration, design and EDA groups to enable analog and mixed-signal product development.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically 2–5 years of relevant experience in PDK development and integration.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain PDK capabilities and perform PDK quality assurance.
  • Define and implement PDK design methodologies and integrate PDKs into design flows.
  • Integrate EDA tools and flows with PDKs and document PDK contents and procedures.
  • Automate PDK functions to improve design productivity and reduce cycle time.
  • Collaborate daily with process integration, design, EDA teams and other PDK engineers.
  • Support analog/mixed-signal design and process development activities and contribute to platform-level tasks as needed.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred skills:

  • 2–5 years' practical experience in PDK development, customization, integration and QA.
  • Knowledge of deep sub-micron CMOS processes, device physics and layout; familiarity with CMOS and/or BiCMOS fabrication technologies.
  • Proficiency with UNIX and scripting (Perl, Python).
  • Experience with revision control systems (e.g., Synchronicity, Subversion).
  • Strong technical problem-solving, communication and presentation skills.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with Cadence schematic/layout tools and Skill programming.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, VLSI, Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience. (Posting explicitly lists "Bachelor/Master degree in Electronics/VLSI Engineering or equivalent.")
