PDE PIE (Package Integration Engineering) Engineer
Role Summary
The engineer will own and lead New Product Introduction (NPI) and package integration activities from NPI through volume production and end-of-life. The role coordinates cross-functional teams (process, equipment, manufacturing, planning, reliability) to meet qualification, yield, and schedule targets for package and product starts.
Work is based in Penang and focuses on backend/package development, first-silicon support, and process enabling to achieve product readiness for manufacturing.

Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities include leading NPI as product owner and ensuring product readiness for production.
- Lead and manage NPI activities and drive NPI phase-gate reviews.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve first-pass qualification and volume ramp.
- Plan and support first silicon, engineering samples, qualification samples, and engineering hot-lot cycles per PDT schedule.
- Monitor product yield trends, quality deviation reports, and reliability; initiate corrective actions when needed.
- Own the product life cycle from NPI to EOL and act as product point of contact to TPM.
- Collaborate with process/equipment/development owners to develop new packaging capabilities.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and behaviors for the role.
- Familiarity with backend engineering processes and semiconductor package structures and reliability concepts.
- Strong data analysis and statistical interpretation skills; proficiency in JMP is required.
- Willingness to learn component test and module manufacturing process details.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound, data-driven decisions and to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Experience using AI-assisted productivity tools (e.g., Copilot) to accelerate root-cause screening, DOE design, and reporting.
