PCIe Verification Engineer (SystemVerilog/UVM) - Remote
Role Summary
Remote verification engineer responsible for PCIe protocol verification using SystemVerilog and UVM. The role focuses on hands-on testbench development, compliance testing with Avery PCIe VIP, and debugging to achieve coverage and consumer-quality IP/RTL.
Experience Level
Mid-level β typically 5+ years of design verification experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities center on building and exercising verification environments to validate PCIe IP and subsystems.
- Design and implement UVM-based testbenches and verification components.
- Develop directed and constrained-random test cases for PCIe features and error scenarios.
- Execute compliance and interoperability tests using Avery PCIe VIP.
- Analyze simulation results, debug failures, and drive root-cause to RTL or testbench fixes.
- Develop and maintain verification infrastructure, regressions, and automated flows.
- Work with RTL designers, architecture, and validation teams to close coverage and verification gaps.
- Track verification metrics and report progress to stakeholders.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for the role.
- 5+ years of hands-on design verification experience (SystemVerilog/UVM).
- Proven experience with Avery PCIe VIP or equivalent PCIe verification environments.
- Strong knowledge of the PCIe protocol and associated compliance requirements.
- Experience with commercial simulators and verification tooling (e.g., Questa, VCS, Incisive) and debug tools.
- Scripting skills for automation and regression (Python, Tcl, Perl, or similar).
- Experience with coverage-driven verification and coverage closure techniques.
- Good collaboration and communication skills for cross-functional debugging and reviews.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with hardware bring-up, PCIe link training in lab, or FPGA prototyping.
- Familiarity with formal verification or static analysis tools.
- Experience with version control, CI systems, and verification infrastructure at scale.
