Optoelectronic Test Development Engineer

The Camera Semiconductor Technologies group at Apple is focused on research, design, and development of technologies that enable innovative features in Apple products. The Optoelectronic Test Development Engineer will develop test hardware and solutions for semiconductor photonic devices, working closely with cross-functional teams to enhance products like FaceID and LiDAR Scanner.
Experience Level
Mid-level, with a preference for candidates with 3+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor optoelectronic testing.
Responsibilities
The Optoelectronic Test Development Engineer will undertake the following key responsibilities:
- Develop industry-leading calibration and metrology methodologies.
- Validate algorithms for test metrology for mass production test stations.
- Collaborate with hardware suppliers to create validated test solutions.
- Conduct failure analysis to identify root causes of tester issues.
- Document tool specifications and failure analysis reports.
- Work closely with characterization labs and various engineering teams.
Requirements
Applicants should meet the following minimum and preferred qualifications:
- Must-have: BS degree in a relevant field, experience in semiconductor electro-optical testing, and proficiency in managing external suppliers.
- Nice-to-have: MS or PhD degree, 3+ years of experience in semiconductor optoelectronic testing, strong communication skills, knowledge of computer vision techniques, and experience with MATLAB or Python.
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment and wafer fab environments is preferred.
Education Requirements
A BS degree is required; an MS or PhD is preferred.
