OPC Applications Engineer, Sr Staff
Role Summary
Product engineer on the Proteus OPC/MEC/RET team responsible for developing, prototyping, and deploying computational lithography solutions in partnership with customers and R&D. The role combines field-facing customer engagement, technical problem solving, and collaboration with internal teams to productize features.
Work includes technical enablement, debugging production issues, and preparing documentation and training materials.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 5+ years in the semiconductor industry with a focus on computational lithography.
Responsibilities
The role includes:
- Partnering with leading-edge semiconductor customers and R&D to define, develop, and deploy new features.
- Creating specifications for prototypes and reviewing/approving functional specifications.
- Prototyping OPC/MEC/RET solutions (including machine learning) and collaborating with R&D to productize them.
- Working with key customers and field support teams to resolve complex production problems and assisting FAEs in debugging.
- Developing and evaluating GPU-based and HPC solutions for performance-critical workloads.
- Compiling training materials and delivering trainings to application engineers and customers.
- Working with technical publications to produce official product documentation.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in the semiconductor field focused on computational lithography.
- Proficiency in Python and scripting languages; C++ experience is beneficial.
- Experience with HPC technologies and GPU-based computing.
- Proven troubleshooting and debugging skills for production-related issues.
- Strong communication, presentation, and teamwork abilities; customer-facing experience.
- Self-motivated, able to multi-task and shift focus as needed.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience applying machine learning to lithography or OPC/MEC/RET workflows.
- Familiarity with Proteus or similar OPC toolsets.
Education Requirements
B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physical Sciences.
