Experience Level
Mid-level. The role requests 5+ years of test engineering experience.
Responsibilities
The engineer will own manufacturing test capability from strategy through deployment and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include:
- Define manufacturing test strategy: screening philosophies, test coverage, release criteria, and critical failure modes.
- Develop scalable production test solutions: test fixtures, automated test equipment (ATE), production test software, diagnostics, and calibration methods.
- Lead deployment across contract manufacturers and suppliers: station qualification, readiness assessments, operator training, and production support.
- Improve test effectiveness: reduce false failures and cycle time, increase coverage, and lower cost-of-test.
- Develop diagnostics for fault isolation and support root-cause investigations.
- Generate manufacturing intelligence from test data: yield trends, failure Pareto analyses, correlation studies, and operational reports.
- Support production ramp (EVT/DVT/PVT and launch): monitor performance, troubleshoot, and drive corrective actions.
- Partner with Product, Process, Quality, Software, and equipment suppliers; influence cross-functional outcomes without direct authority.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for success in this role.
- 5+ years of Test Engineering experience in product manufacturing environments.
- Proven experience with automated manufacturing test systems and production-level ATE.
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations and working with contract manufacturers/suppliers.
