NFC Mobile Wallet Technical Director

Role Summary

As Technical Director for NFC Mobile Wallet at NXP in Gratkorn, you will own the end-to-end technical strategy, system architecture, and execution of NFC-based mobile wallet solutions covering secure payments, access, transit, and value-added services.

You will act as the technical authority bridging chipset capabilities, secure elements, software platforms, ecosystems, and customer requirements, and lead interdisciplinary global teams to deliver secure, compliant, and interoperable solutions.

Experience Level

Senior — requires proven technical leadership and system-level experience in NFC and mobile wallet/payment ecosystems. Specific years of experience not specified.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include defining architecture, requirements, and ensuring compliance and quality.

• Own and drive technical vision and system architecture across hardware, firmware, OS, middleware, and applications.
• Define product and system requirements from customer and stakeholder input.
• Lead NFC controller, Secure Element, OS, and wallet framework architecture definition.
• Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC, EMVCo, GlobalPlatform, and NFC Forum specifications.
• Lead, mentor, and coordinate global interdisciplinary teams.
• Ensure quality, security, and interoperability of solutions.
• Support roadmap definition, risk management, and change control.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, security awareness, and communication.

• System-level expertise in NFC and contactless technologies.
• Deep understanding of mobile wallet and payment ecosystems.
• Proven technical leadership experience in cross-functional teams.
• Experience with Secure Elements, cryptography, and embedded systems.
• Solid understanding of NFC RF principles (13.56 MHz).
• Familiarity with relevant standards (ISO/IEC, EMVCo, GlobalPlatform, NFC Forum).
• Ability to perform security-related tasks and work within security certification scopes.
• Fluent English.
