MTS - Field Application Engineer (Taiwan)
Role Summary
Provide technical and operational support to GlobalFoundries customers across design-in, tapeout, and post-silicon validation. Work within the Global Sales Organization to identify and secure design wins and ensure smooth transitions to customer engineering teams.
Experience Level
Mid-level (minimum 6 years of relevant semiconductor experience).
Responsibilities
Responsible for customer technical engagement throughout demonstration, design-in, tapeout, and post-tapeout activities.
- Lead technology demonstrations and drive design-win acquisition strategy.
- Develop customized technical presentations and proposals for customer evaluations.
- Represent product strengths and limitations internally and to customers.
- Formulate customer requirements and propose compelling design solutions.
- Identify gaps in the service/product portfolio and coordinate internal teams to close them.
- Coordinate tapeout logistics and readiness (export control, IP declaration, frame tables, MPW/test chip requirements).
- Resolve tapeout and post-tapeout technical issues by engaging process and design experts.
- Coordinate silicon functionality verification, performance validation, and margin analysis with customers.
- Partner with account and sales managers to ensure smooth post-design-win transitions to Customer Engineering.
- Meet design win, tapeout, and MPW objectives; follow Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements.

- Minimum 6 years' experience in semiconductor IC design, system design, or semiconductor IC/system test (must-have).
- End-to-end experience from concept to silicon validation (must-have).
- Experience with IC product design and IP and familiarity with design enablement flows and tools (must-have).
- Practical understanding of silicon processing and device physics (must-have).
- Strong analytical, technical, project management, communication and presentation skills (must-have).
- Customer-facing experience and sales aptitude (must-have).
- Prior exposure to or experience within a foundry is desirable (nice-to-have).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Electronics/Electrical Engineering is specified; the posting also references a Master’s or PhD and allows equivalent experience in lieu of formal degrees.
