Module Development Engineer

Role Summary

The Module Development Engineer will develop and optimize defect inspection tools and advanced manufacturing processes for high-volume semiconductor production. The role partners with equipment and material suppliers and contributes to technology pathfinding and manufacturing roadmaps.

Experience Level

Entry-level / College graduate. Minimum 1+ years of relevant engineering experience required.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include developing processes and inspection solutions to support current and next-generation manufacturing.

  • Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes, including materials, equipment metrology, and system design.
  • Lead feasibility studies and pathfinding to evaluate new device architectures and process options.
  • Develop and implement defect inspection and image-processing solutions for production and future nodes.
  • Collaborate with equipment and material vendors to qualify and integrate enabling technologies.
  • Recommend and implement equipment/process modifications to improve performance and yield.
  • Use simulations and hands-on engineering to validate process feasibility.
  • Contribute to cost-sensitive technology roadmaps and vendor-driven innovation efforts.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for initial consideration.

  • Minimum 1+ years relevant engineering experience in semiconductor processing, system controls, opto-mechanics, or mechanical systems.
  • Practical experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Programming experience in Python or MATLAB.
  • Hands-on experience with robotics, automation systems, vision systems, or image processing.
  • Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing processes and equipment in a production environment.
  • Position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM field is required. Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM field is preferred.
