Job Title

Module Development Engineer

Role Summary

Member of the Intel Foundry team responsible for developing and enabling manufacturing processes and equipment solutions for current high-volume products and future technology nodes. The role leads process and hardware development activities including process integration, feasibility studies, parameter optimization, and technology roadmapping.

This position requires regular on-site presence in Hillsboro and focuses on delivering manufacturable solutions and supplier-enabled technology elements for advanced semiconductor products.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include process development, equipment enablement, partnering with suppliers, and creating technology roadmaps to support manufacturing and future device architectures.

  • Drive technology development and enablement for high-volume manufacturing and future technologies.
  • Design and develop manufacturing processes and repair/reverse-engineering approaches: material selection, parameter optimization, equipment metrology, and system design.
  • Perform pathfinding and feasibility studies using simulations and practical engineering methods.
  • Recommend and implement equipment modifications to improve production efficiency and yield.
  • Partner with equipment and materials suppliers to develop and implement enabling technology elements.
  • Develop technology roadmaps and monitor industry technical trends relevant to Intel process needs.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience are listed below. Preferred qualifications follow.

Must-have:

  • Technical expertise in semiconductor processing, system controls, opto-mechanics, or mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Programming experience in Python or MATLAB.
  • Hands-on experience with robotics, automation systems, machine vision, and image processing.

Nice-to-have / Preferred:

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Experience with equipment and process development and supplier engagement.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
