Job Title

Module Development Engineer

Role Summary

Lead the design and development of manufacturing processes and equipment solutions to enable high-volume semiconductor manufacturing and future device architectures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturing to implement and improve process integration, metrology, and system designs.

Contribute to technology roadmaps, pathfinding for new device architectures, and production-enabling activities.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include process and equipment development, integration, and transfer to manufacturing.

  • Develop and enable new technologies for high-volume manufacturing, focusing on process integration and equipment solutions.
  • Design and optimize complex manufacturing processes including materials selection, parameter optimization, metrology, and system design.
  • Perform simulations, feasibility studies, and engineering experiments to meet device specifications.
  • Lead pathfinding and process/hardware development for emerging device architectures.
  • Collaborate with equipment and materials suppliers to implement enabling elements.
  • Recommend and execute equipment and process modifications to improve yield, efficiency, and output.
  • Monitor industry trends in process and materials manufacturing to anticipate future needs.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and relevant experience; preferred items are noted.

  • Experience in semiconductor processing, process development, or cleanroom environments.
  • Proficiency with statistical tools such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Experience in wafer-level assembly module engineering or fab process and hardware technology development.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex process issues using structured problem-solving methods.
  • Experience collaborating with equipment and materials suppliers to implement solutions.
  • Familiarity with advanced process control systems and data analysis tools (preferred: JMP).
  • Proven track record driving continuous improvement projects in multidisciplinary teams (preferred).
  • Prior singulation experience (laser and dicing) is a plus.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 2+ years, or PhD with no prior experience required. Relevant fields include Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Organic Chemistry, Polymer Engineering, or related engineering disciplines. Qualifications may also be met via a combination of industry experience, internships, coursework, or research.
