Job Title
Mixed Signal Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and verify digital and mixed-signal blocks for next-generation DRAM (GDDR/DDR) within the Munich Development Center high-speed signaling team. Collaborate with architecture, integration, verification and silicon bring-up teams to deliver high-performance, reliable memory IP and subsystems.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Specific years of experience are not stated; role expects demonstrated mixed-signal and digital design expertise.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design digital and mixed-signal blocks at transistor, gate and RTL levels for GDDR and DDR DRAM.
- Define interfaces, behavior, and functional requirements for mixed-signal blocks.
- Collaborate with block owners and integration teams to ensure full-chip integration.
- Develop testbenches and perform functional and gate-level verification.
- Support silicon bring-up and design validation activities.
- Use AI-driven tools to streamline workflows and improve design efficiency.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Strong fundamentals in semiconductor physics and digital and mixed-signal circuit design.
- Familiarity with digital circuit concepts: decoders, FIFOs, serial/parallel converters, cross-domain synchronization, error detection/correction, random data generators.
- Experience with schematic and gate-level design and simulations.
- Experience with industry-standard EDA tools (e.g., Spice, PrimeSim, SystemVerilog, Design Compiler, PrimeTime, Xcelium, Spyglass).
- Experience with scripting and automation tools (Python, TCL, Claude Code, Atlassian toolchain).
- Ability to develop testbenches and perform functional and gate-level verification.
- Ability to support silicon bring-up and design validation; strong analytical skills; able to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable working in an international engineering environment.
Nice-to-have:
- Memory design experience.
Education Requirements
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience. Related technical or engineering degrees (electrical/computer engineering, semiconductor physics) or equivalent practical experience are acceptable.
