Material Engineer, Advanced Packaging Technology Development
Role Summary
Evaluate, qualify and troubleshoot assembly materials and processes for advanced semiconductor packaging. Work within the packaging technology development team to improve yield, reduce cost, support new product introductions and enable site-to-site portability.
Role includes process and equipment evaluations, supplier management, and support for statistical and monitoring systems.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Identify, diagnose and resolve assembly material-related problems across process steps.
- Coordinate and execute process, equipment and material evaluations and implement optimizations.
- Lead or participate in continuous yield improvement and cost reduction activities.
- Validate and qualify new materials, processes, and tools for new product introductions.
- Support statistical process control systems (SPC), FDC, RMS and APC.
- Support site-to-site process portability and internal/external audits.
- Manage and audit material suppliers to meet quality, cost and risk-management objectives.
Requirements

- Must have: Experience with semiconductor packaging materials and assembly processes, including problem diagnosis and corrective actions.
- Must have: Experience performing material/process evaluations and qualifications; familiarity with SPC, FDC, RMS or APC systems.
- Must have: Supplier management or audit experience and experience supporting site portability and audits.
- Nice to have: Experience with process equipment qualification and new product introduction in semiconductor packaging environments.
