Job Title
Manufacturing Test Engineer, Tesla
Role Summary
The Manufacturing Test Engineer will develop and scale board-level test methodology, infrastructure, and processes for NVIDIA Tesla PCIe GPU products. The role partners with cross-functional design, software, and operations teams and contract manufacturer (CM) factories to move products from design validation into high-volume production.
Primary responsibilities include defining validation plans, automating test infrastructure and tooling, diagnosing board-level failures, and improving manufacturability and test capacity across multiple CM sites.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Requires 5+ years of professional experience in manufacturing test, test infrastructure development, or related roles.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include design, implementation, and support of board-level test flows and test infrastructure for GPU/Tesla PCIe products.
- Collaborate with internal teams and CM factory partners to maintain test infrastructure and implement manufacturing flows.
- Plan and execute test capacity ramp for NPI and mass production across multiple CM sites.
- Design, develop, and implement cost-effective methods for testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment during development and manufacturing.
- Diagnose and analyze board-level test failures with hardware, software, and operations teams; provide feedback on debug tools.
- Support test setup, troubleshooting, and documentation (diagnostic packages, FTP) during NPI and mass production.
- Develop tools to automate product definitions, data collection, test execution, and results analysis.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, experience, and professional attributes.
- 5+ years' experience in manufacturing test and test infrastructure development.
- Experience with GPU and data-center platform testing software and test flows.
- Deep knowledge of low-level software drivers and kernel-level interactions.
- Ability to debug at board and system level and use probing hardware.
- Familiarity with electronic product production build and test flow; understanding of production test capacity and manufacturability.
- Strong communication (English), organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills; able to drive projects with minimal supervision.
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of board and data-center manufacturing processes and system testing.
- Experience with x86 assembly, PC architecture, and power management.
- Scripting experience (Shell, Java, Perl, Python) and familiarity with Windows, CentOS, Ubuntu.
- Experience in test solution design, failure analysis, test program development, and system-level diagnostics.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automatic Control, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field (BS/MS).
