Job Title
LPDDR PE Backend DFT Engineer
Role Summary
The ATE Backend DFT team defines DFT architecture and backend test strategies for LPDDR mobile DRAM products. This role performs feasibility studies, develops backend test methodologies and patterns, verifies DFT implementation through simulation and silicon bring-up, and drives yield and test-time improvements in collaboration with design, product engineering, and test teams.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The posting does not specify years of experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead feasibility studies and develop backend test methodologies for new LPDDR products.
- Improve backend test coverage, quality, and test-time efficiency for mobile DRAM.
- Collaborate with DFT, Test Solution (TSE), and Product Engineering teams and review/sign off backend test program releases.
- Develop test patterns and verify them using Verilog simulation.
- Automate program development and work processes using scripting.
- Use engineering equipment for product characterization and electrical failure analysis.
- Support new product startup, identify low-yield causes, and drive yield-improvement projects using statistical analysis.
- Define and secure test fixtures for memory and system testing; develop cost-efficient LPDDR test strategies.
- Identify design marginalities and request design fixes for circuit-related problems.
- Apply AI tools and iterative team-led experimentation to improve operational efficiency and problem solving.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and attributes:
- Proven experience with backend testing for Memory/SoC, including BIST/BOST test program development.
- Experience with scan test development for SoC; familiarity with Synopsys TestMax is a strong plus.
- Solid circuit design knowledge and previous DRAM-related work experience.
- Proficiency in scripting for automation and data parsing.
- Experience with Verilog simulations for test pattern verification.
- Ability to use statistical/data-analysis tools to drive yield and quality improvements.
- Strong English communication skills (spoken and written).
- Ability to work cross-functionally, take ownership, and maintain a growth mindset.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with AI methods and tools.
- Japanese language skills (preferred for working with local engineers).
Education Requirements
BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Information Engineering β or equivalent practical experience.
