Low Power ASIC Engineer - New College Grad 2026

Role Summary

Entry-level ASIC engineer on NVIDIA's Low Power Design & Verification team. The role focuses on developing and verifying power-management solutions for GPUs and SoCs across AI, automotive, GeForce, and mobile products.

The position works closely with architecture, design, and software teams to create testbenches, verification infrastructure, and test plans for power-aware designs and to improve power-aware DV methodologies.

Experience Level

Entry-level (new college graduate). No specific years-of-experience required; intended for recent BS/MS/PhD graduates.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include designing verification infrastructure and validating power-management solutions.

  • Collaborate with Low Power Architecture, Design, and Software teams to understand features and requirements.
  • Architect and develop testbenches, verification infrastructure, and test plans for power management features.
  • Verify power-management techniques and implement power-aware DV methodologies.
  • Debug simulation results and work with EDA vendors to improve simulation and debug efficiency.
  • Contribute ideas to improve power-aware verification flows and automation.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • Understanding of low-power design techniques (multi-VT, clock gating, power gating, block activity power, DVFS).
  • Familiarity with processor architecture; GPU experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Incisive Low-Power or Synopsys VCS NLP.
  • Strong debug skills; experience with Verdi.
  • Fluent in Verilog and SystemVerilog and familiarity with UVM.

Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge of power intent expressed in UPF.
  • Background in low-power architectures, low-power CV, or deep learning.
  • Scripting skills in Python or Perl; familiarity with C or C++.
  • Experience writing or maintaining build scripts or Makefiles for simulation environments.

Education Requirements

Recently completed a BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (or equivalent practical experience). Related technical fields or equivalent experience also acceptable.
