RTL Design Jobs, Level - Mid-Career

Job Title

Logic Design Engineer

Role Summary

Work in Intel's Wireless Communication Solutions (WCS) team within the Silicon division to design RTL/IP for wireless connectivity SoCs from early definition through tape-out. The role focuses on logic design, RTL coding, simulation, microarchitecture definition, and customer integration.

Use AI-assisted design and optimization tools, collaborate across functions, and take ownership of complex end-to-end design tasks to meet power, performance, area, and timing goals.

Experience Level

Mid-level — requires 4+ years of experience in RTL design, logic development, and system architecture.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, verification support, and integration of IP blocks and subsystems for SoC projects.

  • Develop logic design, write RTL (SystemVerilog/Verilog), and create simulations for IP blocks and subsystems.
  • Participate in architecture and microarchitecture definition and PPA optimization using AI-assisted tools.
  • Review verification plans, debug RTL test failures, and ensure design correctness with AI-enhanced debugging tools.
  • Support SoC customers for IP integration and manage IP-to-SoC handoff and quality assurance.
  • Own complex design tasks end-to-end from concept to delivery.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; advantage qualifications listed separately.

  • Must-have: Proficiency in SystemVerilog and Verilog and strong digital design fundamentals.
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with microarchitecture debugging, simulation environments, and testbench development.
  • Must-have: Deep knowledge of SoC clocking architectures and integration methodologies.
  • Must-have: Proven hardware design expertise and strong technical problem-solving skills.
  • Must-have: Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in team environments.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with clock domain crossing, clock gating, and low-power design techniques.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with industry-standard design flows, timing analysis, and physical implementation considerations.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent is preferred. Equivalent practical experience is acceptable where stated.
