Job Title
Lead Test Engineer, Switching Regulator
Role Summary
This role leads test and characterization efforts for mid-voltage switching regulator (Mid-Vin Buck) products. The engineer works closely with design, validation, systems, and production teams to develop and implement ATE test programs and hardware, debug silicon, and enable volume production.
Primary mission: define and execute test strategy, develop test programs and hardware, characterize and qualify silicon, support failure analysis and yield improvement, and drive robust, cost-effective production test solutions.
Experience Level
Mid-level (5+ years relevant experience; 8+ years preferred)
Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities for this position include:
- Create test plans and develop characterization and production test programs and ATE hardware (including ATE interface boards).
- Debug and characterize silicon on ATE and correlate ATE results with bench measurements.
- Analyze silicon results, support failure analysis, and perform device-level debugging and design validation.
- Perform statistical analysis of yield fallout, drive yield improvements, and optimize test time.
- Define and implement test strategy for new DC-DC converter products and qual hardware development.
- Work with production teams to release products to volume production and support test offload to manufacturing sites.
- Drive cost-effective, robust test solutions while maintaining product quality.
Requirements
Key requirements and preferred skills.
-
Must-have: 5+ years relevant experience; hands-on ATE experience (Teradyne Eagle preferred) or equivalent analog ATE (iFlex, LTX, VLCT).
- Characterization and production test program and hardware development experience.
- Strong knowledge of electronic devices, analog circuits, and analog test techniques.
- Data analysis skills using Spotfire, dataPower, or equivalent STDF-based tools.
- Experience with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, power supplies, sourcemeters, electronic loads, etc.
- Experience with yield improvement, test time reduction, and the IC product development process from concept to volume production.
-
Nice-to-have: Mixed-signal test techniques and power-product test development; experience offloading test programs to offshore manufacturing; programming/scripting (C++, Python, C#); revision control tool experience.
- Strong analytical, communication, teamwork, and time-management skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and drive results.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required (Degree Level: Bachelor's Degree). No alternative-equivalent-degree language specified.
