Lead Product Engineer

Role Summary

Lead the product engineering activities for Palladium and Protium systems to develop, validate, and release these systems to contract manufacturing partners. The role works cross-functionally with design, test, and manufacturing teams to create and implement assembly, build, and test procedures that meet mission-critical reliability and quality standards.

Primarily onsite at assigned contract manufacturer sites in Guadalajara, supporting prototype, pre-production and production releases and troubleshooting manufacturing issues.

Responsibilities

Own and drive manufacturing readiness, validation, and release-to-manufacturing activities for system-level products.

  • Lead rack- and system-level manufacturing build and test activities at contract manufacturers.
  • Develop, document, and implement assembly, build, and test procedures and process documentation.
  • Evaluate and support design validation testing and system validation testing at Cadence and CM sites.
  • Support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and resolve manufacturing-related design issues.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing test engineers to develop production test solutions and correlate system-level tests with manufacturing test cells.
  • Manage prototype and pre-production builds to ensure correct technical execution and content.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and drive resolution of early manufacturing issues at CM sites; ensure closure of all RTM deliverables.
  • Design, develop, and manage scalable and automated assembly/test processes, fixtures, and supporting equipment to enable efficient production and high quality.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, experience, and attributes.

  • Experience with test cell development and support.
  • Proven experience working with contract manufacturers and managing prototype/pre-production builds.
  • Hands-on experience with system-level products from prototype through release to manufacturing.
  • Experience managing complex, multi-level bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, test flows, and new product introduction (NPI).
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Access and general electronic and mechanical CAD tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and device datasheets.
  • Experience debugging boards via RMA and performing PCBA/component-level failure analysis.
  • Strong diagnostics and troubleshooting skills at the board level; advanced use of measurement and analysis instruments (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, etc.).

Nice-to-have / preferred:

  • Experience with liquid-cooled computer systems and large/complex PCBAs with high-speed/high-power interfaces (SerDes, PCIe, Ethernet).
  • Experience with optical/high-density network test processes (Infiniband, ROCE2) and high-density rear-panel connectors.
  • Familiarity with Cadence SPB tools (Allegro, OrCAD) and PLM tools such as Arena or Agile.
  • Experience with high-density optical manufacturing processes and power distribution (single/three-phase).
  • Hands-on experience with piping/hose systems and comfort using Linux admin and scripting tools.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. The posting allows equivalent practical experience in lieu of a degree. No additional certifications were specified.
