Role Overview
The Lead Platform Emulation Engineer will focus on the planning, execution, and debugging of verification processes for AMD’s System on Chips (SOCs), ensuring the final design is free of bugs in both hardware and firmware.
Experience Level
This position requires extensive experience, seeking applicants with over 18 years in relevant disciplines, including collaboration with cross-functional teams and leadership in emulation.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to understand the verification needs of new features.
- Drive emulation methodologies and develop test architecture for SOCs.
- Create documentation for test plans, reflecting interactions between hardware, firmware, and software drivers.
- Estimate time requirements for developing new test features and necessary environment modifications.
- Develop and implement directed pre-silicon emulation tests.
- Debug failures and collaborate with RTL and firmware engineers to resolve issues.
- Create tests for features in co-simulated and emulated environments.
- Implement checks and monitors for firmware/hardware validation.
- Run emulation workloads to test features and debug issues utilizing logs and RTL debug tools.
Position Requirements
Ideal candidates will possess a deep understanding of processor architecture, digital design, and verification methods. Strong analytical skills and the ability to mentor teams are essential.
Education Requirements
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering is required.
