Position Overview

The Lead Platform Emulation Engineer is responsible for planning, building, executing, and debugging the verification and validation of new features for AMD’s SOCs. This critical role involves minimizing bugs in final SOC designs and firmware, while leading an emulation team towards innovative solutions.

Experience Level

This position is designed for a senior-level engineer with substantial experience in relevant technologies and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects and hardware/firmware engineers to confirm the features to be verified.
• Drive emulation methodologies and SOC design models.
• Create test plan documentation considering interactions with various components.
• Estimate time requirements for test creation and test environment modifications.
• Develop directed Pre-Silicon Emulation tests.
• Debug failures and work with engineers to identify and rectify design defects.
• Write directed tests for verification in both co-simulated and emulated hardware environments.
• Run emulator workloads for testing and debugging technical issues.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a deep understanding of processor architecture and verification processes with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering with 14+ years of industry experience.
