Lead FPGA Prototyping and Emulation Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a Lead FPGA Prototyping and Emulation Engineer to contribute to advancements in computing technology through digital design and verification techniques. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading efforts in prototyping and emulation methodologies within the team.

Position Summary

This role is vital for ensuring the delivery of high-quality industry-leading technologies by improving AMD's capabilities and supporting product development. This includes driving innovations across various technical initiatives and facilitating continuous career development within the team.

Experience Level

This position is aimed at candidates with extensive experience, ideally around 8 years or more in FPGA design or related fields, who are comfortable taking on leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and enhancement of prototyping and emulation flows and methodologies.
• Drive technical innovation in validation processes through tool and script development.
• Oversee the modeling of un-synthesizable blocks to optimize costs and enhance platform capacity.
• Debug issues during the process, including in production phases of SOC programs.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to ensure all features are validated and optimized.
• Engage in software/hardware modeling frameworks to support technical teams.

Qualifications

• In-depth programming and scripting skills in languages including C/C++, Perl, Ruby, and Python.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping and emulation using tools from Synopsys, Cadence, and Siemens.
• Familiarity with high-speed protocols including PCIe, USB, and DP standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Must demonstrate the ability to work autonomously and drive projects to completion.

Education Requirements

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering is required.
