Role Summary

The Lead Engineer - AI, within AMD's IP organization, will create and oversee AI-powered tools and methodologies aimed at enhancing RTL design and verification processes. This position emphasizes the development of AI-assisted solutions and automation within engineering workflows.

Experience Level

This role is aimed at candidates with 5-8+ years of experience in AI/ML tools development, EDA methodology automation, or software engineering for hardware organizations.

Responsibilities

• Technical Ownership & Architecture: Define the architecture for AI tools that improve RTL development and design verification.
• AI Tools & Automation Development: Design and develop AI tools for tasks like regression failure analysis and intelligent log handling.
• Process & Infrastructure Integration: Ensure integration of AI solutions into existing engineering workflows while maintaining scalability and reliability.
• Data, Models & MLOps: Define data strategies and lead practices for model training and evaluation.
• Adoption, Mentorship & Influence: Drive the adoption of AI solutions through training and mentorship of junior engineers.

Requirements

• Education Requirements: B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or Data Science/AI.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and either C++ or Java, with a strong understanding of machine learning and EDA workflows.
• Soft Skills: Effective leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
