Lead DFT Engineer (f/m/d)

Role Summary

Lead technical design-for-test (DFT) strategy and implementation for automotive System-on-Chip (SoC) products in the Munich automotive microcontrollers R&D team. Provide hands-on DFT design, verification, and cross-functional coordination to deliver manufacturable test solutions for volume production.

Combine technical leadership, mentorship, and collaboration with design, verification, and test teams to ensure high test coverage and efficient silicon bring-up.

Experience Level

Senior level — requires significant experience. Posting specifies 10+ years of hands-on DFT experience in complex SoCs.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Define and drive DFT architectures, methodologies, and standards for automotive SoCs.
• Implement and verify DFT logic to produce high-quality test patterns for volume production.
• Bridge design intent and manufacturable test solutions; collaborate closely with design teams.
• Serve as point of contact for verification and test engineering to define and validate manufacturing test plans.
• Ensure high test coverage at tape-out and support efficient silicon bring-up and debug.
• Mentor and develop engineering team members.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• 10+ years of hands-on DFT experience on complex SoCs.
• Expert knowledge of DFT techniques such as scan architectures, JTAG, MBIST, and LBIST.
• Strong hands-on experience in RTL DFT logic insertion.
• Practical experience with scan insertion, ATPG, and test pattern debug.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills; fluent in English.
• Ability to perform security-related tasks and work to security certification requirements when applicable.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Physics, or a related field.
