Role Summary

Senior layout engineer responsible for detailed physical layout and verification of high-speed analog and mixed-signal IP intended for integration into SoCs. The role is part of a multi-geographical team developing IPs for AI/ML, HPC and hyperscale data center markets using advanced FinFET nodes.

Responsibilities

The engineer will produce and verify physical layouts, optimize designs for integration, and support delivery of first‑time‑right IP.

• Create detailed layout and perform required verification for analog and mixed-signal IP.
• Layout PLLs, phase interpolators, high-speed clock distribution, RX decision-feedback equalizers, deserializers, TX drivers, serializers, high-speed DACs and ADCs.
• Optimize layouts for power, performance, area and integration into higher-level IP/SoCs.
• Work with circuit designers to resolve layout-related circuit issues and ensure manufacturability.
• Participate in reviews and maintain quality and documentation standards for IP handoff.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience listed below; additional desirable skills follow.

• Extensive experience in layout of high-speed custom analog and digital circuits (examples: SerDes, HBM, UCIe, PLLs).
• Expertise with Cadence Virtuoso tool suite for schematic capture and layout.
• Design experience in advanced FinFET process nodes.
• Strong understanding of layout fundamentals and proven problem-solving ability for complex layouts.
• Experience optimizing layout for power, performance, and integration into SoC environments.

Nice-to-have:

• Familiarity with Innovus.
• Hands-on experience with high-speed IO and clocking topologies.

Education Requirements

BS in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 8+ years of relevant experience, or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 6+ years of relevant experience is strongly preferred.
