Junior Embedded Software Developer

Role Summary

Member of the ROM firmware team responsible for low-level startup and security code that runs on microcontrollers from power-on. The role involves early-stage firmware development, pre-silicon verification and debugging, and close collaboration with hardware, validation, and security teams.

Primary locations: Brno or Rožnov (Czech Republic).

Experience Level

Entry-level (Junior). Typically suitable for candidates with roughly 0–3 years of embedded software or related engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver and maintain ROM/boot firmware and related low-level software components; ensure security and reliability from power-on through production.

• Develop and maintain embedded C firmware, including early-stage ROM/boot code.
• Define and implement clear requirements and system architecture for assigned features.
• Perform verification and debugging in pre-silicon and hardware environments to achieve robust test coverage.
• Harden critical code areas to meet security and safety expectations and follow prescribed security frameworks (e.g., EdgeLock).
• Collaborate with hardware, validation, security, and cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Maintain well-structured code, configurations, and use version control workflows (GIT).

• Must-have: Practical experience programming embedded systems in C and working close to hardware.
• Must-have: Understanding of microcontroller architecture fundamentals and embedded debugging techniques.
• Must-have: Familiarity with version control (GIT) and standard software development workflows; effective English communication.
• Analytical mindset, structured work style, ownership, and ability to collaborate within cross-functional teams.
• Nice-to-have: ROM or bootloader development experience, automotive standards (ASPICE, ISO 26262), low-level ARM driver experience, RTOS experience, Python scripting and build tools (make).
