Role Summary
The AMD Image Signal Processing team is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to lead IP verification for advanced products. The role involves close collaboration across various functional teams including Architecture, Algorithm, Design, and Verification, focusing on delivering AMD ISP/VPE subsystem designs for SoC implementations.
Experience Level
This position is intended for a Senior level engineer, requiring a minimum of 5 years of verification experience in multimedia, image processing, or related industries. Previous experience with image signal processing is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities include:
- Comprehending hardware architecture and functional block designs.
- Constructing C/C++ models, test benches, and monitors for testing.
- Engaging in block-level and subsystem verification and debugging.
- Developing ASIC-specific test plans and facilitating collaboration with various engineering teams to validate functional correctness.
- Providing support for software, firmware, and diagnostic teams during pre-silicon and post-silicon debugging.
- Managing the verification environment and developing scripts for workflow efficiency.
- Working with management to ensure timely delivery of verified components.
Requirements
Candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- For a BS degree, at least 8 years of experience in ASIC/SoC verification; or for a MS degree, at least 5 years of experience.
- Hands-on experience with complex ASIC design verification flows.
- Familiarity with design for verification methodologies and tools such as UVM is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge regarding multimedia and image processing is highly valued.
- Problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, and a collaborative approach are essential.
- Experience in FPGA validation is beneficial.
- Ability to work with teams across multiple sites is preferred.
