Job Title
IP Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Member of the Solutions Engineering Technology and IP verification team responsible for planning and executing verification for IP and subsystems (e.g., PCIe, DDR, interconnect, high-speed I/O, processor subsystems, security IP).
Work with architecture, RTL design, firmware, performance and SoC integration teams to deliver production-quality, reusable verification environments and drive coverage to sign-off. Roles are available across multiple individual-contributor levels.
Experience Level
Multiple individual-contributor levels are hiring (early-career / verification engineer through senior and staff levels). Exact level and responsibilities will be matched to candidate experience; no specific years-of-experience were listed.
Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities (vary by level):
- Develop verification strategies, test plans, coverage models, and verification environments using SystemVerilog/UVM.
- Create constrained-random, directed, protocol-compliance, error-injection, low-power, and performance tests.
- Debug simulation and regression failures across RTL, testbench, firmware, and integration layers.
- Drive functional, code, assertion, and scenario coverage to closure and support sign-off.
- Verify multi-clock, multi-reset, and multi-power-domain behavior and support hardware/firmware co-verification.
- Contribute to verification automation, regression infrastructure, dashboards, and CI flows.
- Participate in architecture, specification, design, and coverage reviews; mentor junior engineers as appropriate to role level.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and abilities; seniority-specific depth expected:
- Practical experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog RTL and simulation-based verification.
- Experience with SystemVerilog, UVM, or comparable verification methodologies and verification planning.
- Experience developing tests, functional coverage, assertions, scoreboards, and debugging test failures.
- Familiarity with SoC/IP architecture concepts: clocking, reset, interrupts, address maps, and system integration.
- Familiarity with one or more protocols or technology areas (AXI, AHB, APB, CHI, PCIe, DDR, high-speed I/O, interconnect, processor subsystems, security IP).
- Experience with scripting or programming (Python, Perl, Tcl, Bash, C/C++). Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in PCIe, DDR controllers, high-speed serials, security IP, low-power verification (UPF), formal/assertion-based verification, emulation/acceleration, or performance verification.
- Familiarity with ARM-based designs and system architectures.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
