Job Title
IP RTL Design Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting IP components for the Intel Unified Chassis, with primary focus on protocol bridges and related interfaces. Collaborate with architects, senior engineers, validation, firmware, and post-silicon teams to define microarchitecture, deliver RTL and simulation, and ensure system-level functionality and diagnosability.
Experience Level
Mid-level; typically 6β15 years of experience in RTL coding, logic design, and simulation.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design, implement, and verify protocol bridges between AXI, AXI-Lite, APB, IOSF-SB, HBW, LBW, and similar interconnects.
- Develop RTL and simulation testbenches to meet functional correctness and performance targets.
- Implement access control, privilege qualification, policy propagation, and secure data paths.
- Implement error detection, parity/ECC generation and checking, and transaction error handling.
- Integrate, verify, and debug IP within larger IP or SoC environments; support validation, firmware, and post-silicon debug.
- Document design features, test plans, and verification results; support handoff of IP deliverables.
- Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to define interface and microarchitecture requirements.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 6β15 years' experience in RTL coding, logic design, and simulation.
- Proficiency in Verilog or VHDL.
- Strong digital design skills, including power, performance, and area optimization.
- Familiarity with synthesis, timing analysis, and formal verification tools.
- Experience debugging RTL and resolving failing tests.
- Experience with RAS, debug, security, and telemetry features.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience supporting SoC customers with IP integration and verification.
- Proven ability to lead projects and solve complex technical challenges.
- Knowledge of NOC design, credit-based fabric & bridge architectures, high-throughput SoC interconnect design, and fabric/protocol IP.
- Master's or PhD-level experience or research in a relevant field.
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. Preferred: Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. (No explicit equivalent-experience language provided.)
