IP Licensing Manager (Technical Program Management)

Role Summary

Join a small, collaborative team responsible for sourcing, licensing, and managing third-party semiconductor IP used in advanced SoCs across automotive, connectivity, and edge markets. The role sits at the intersection of engineering, product strategy, procurement, and legal to enable integration of external IP into NXP products.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” requires approximately 5+ years of experience in semiconductor development (design, verification, systems, or related areas) and experience working on cross-functional technical projects.

Responsibilities

Contribute technical and program management support for sourcing and integrating third-party IP into SoC programs.

  • Support IP sourcing: evaluation, benchmarking, and supplier assessment.
  • Define technical requirements and contribute to technical negotiations with suppliers.
  • Provide technical input to Procurement for commercial negotiations, cost modeling, and analysis.
  • Coordinate supplier interactions, track progress, and manage escalations.
  • Assist with financial tracking, forecasting, and reporting related to IP engagements.
  • Support compliance with licensing agreements and internal governance processes.

Requirements

Must-have technical and program-management skills for working with external IP and cross-functional teams.

  • 5+ years experience in semiconductor development (design, verification, systems, or related areas).
  • Proven experience on cross-functional technical projects and ability to coordinate across engineering, legal, procurement, and finance.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and drive supplier engagements to delivery.
  • Attention to detail and experience supporting technical negotiations or supplier assessments.

Nice-to-have:

  • Exposure to third-party IP development, evaluation, or integration in SoC programs.
  • Experience working directly with external suppliers or partners.
  • Familiarity with basic contract or licensing concepts and cost modeling/financial analysis.

Education Requirements

B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related field (as stated). Related technical degrees acceptable; the posting specifies these degrees but does not state alternative-equivalent wording.
