IP Library Circuit Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and deliver analog and/or digital IP blocks and library components for ASIC/SoC products. Work on architecture, circuit/logic design, optimization, verification, implementation and documentation within an ASICS engineering team.

Collaborate with software, hardware, product and program teams to drive execution and optimize full design flows (RTL-to-GDS or custom circuit flow) for timing, power and verification goals.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Primary duties include:

• Define, model, design, optimize and verify IP blocks and SoC components (digital and/or analog).
• Develop architectures, circuit specifications, logic designs and system simulations.
• Analyze and optimize RTL-to-GDS or custom circuit design flows for timing, power and verification.
• Use EDA tools (e.g., Cadence Virtuoso, RTL-to-GDS flows) for complex block/SoC design.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, product management and program teams to drive execution.
• Write and review technical documentation for ASIC/IP projects.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members and communicate technical concepts to stakeholders.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes:

• Practical experience with IP/ASIC design flows and verification methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with industry EDA tools and flows (e.g., RTL-to-GDS, Cadence Virtuoso).
• Ability to optimize designs for timing, power and area and to perform system-level tradeoffs.
• Strong technical communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor peers and influence cross-functional decisions.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with architecture and design tools (preferred: 2+ years).
• Prior work on high-performance, low-power IP or SoC projects.

Education Requirements

Required/expected: Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Science, Engineering, or a related field. Preferred fields include Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
