Internship - Software Engineer (Java & Python Tools Development for Trust Provisioning)

Role Summary

Join the GoldenSample (GS) Team within Trust Provisioning at NXP Gratkorn to develop engineering tools used daily by product and test teams. You will work with senior developers on Java-based tools and supporting Python scripts, delivering practical solutions and improvements in a small collaborative team.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship suitable for current students. Part-time commitment of approximately 16–24 hours per week.

Responsibilities

Primary development and maintenance tasks, with involvement across the development lifecycle.

• Implement, test, and maintain software tools primarily in Java; use Python scripting where appropriate.
• Own assigned development tasks from implementation through testing and deployment.
• Work on defined development tickets and pursue self-driven optimization initiatives.
• Participate in agile processes (Scrum) and use tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Git.
• Support testing activities and produce technical documentation.
• Follow security-conscious practices; work may fall under security certification scopes.

Requirements

Must-have skills and conditions for the role.

• Solid programming skills and strong interest in software engineering.
• Good knowledge of Java; basic Python knowledge is beneficial.
• Interest in automation, developer tools, and process optimization.
• Familiarity or willingness to work with Git, Jira, and Confluence.
• Good English communication skills, spoken and written.
• Valid work authorization for Austria.
• Availability for approximately 16–24 hours per week (negotiable).
• Reliable, disciplined work style suitable for security-related tasks.

Education Requirements

Ongoing university studies in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Telematics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (student status required).
